Would you like your community to get $1 million? If so, you're in luck - this Saturday, April 7 is the start of Participatory Budgeting Vote Week.
27 City Council districts across the city are participating, allowing community members to vote on how a portion of the city budget should be spent. Voting starts Saturday, April 7 and ends Sunday, April 15.
Are you new to Participatory Budgeting? Want to learn how it works? This Thursday, April 5 at 12:30 pm we'll cover everything you need to know about the program in our free webinar, Introduction to Participatory Budgeting. You'll learn:
- All about Participatory Budgeting
- What it means for New York
- How to vote
Register for Introduction to Participatory Budgeting
Find out if your council member is participating, and see what projects are up for a vote on the City Council website. By voting for parks projects in your district you can help ensure they get the funding necessary to meet the needs of your community.
Don't see your council district? Contact your Council Member and encourage them to commit to participatory budgeting next year.
Thanks for showing up for parks!
Sincerely,
Gabriella Cappo Outreach Coordinator, NY4P PBNYC Citywide Committee Member
